Where you’ll work: Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person. You’ll be assigned to the closest hub: Bristol, Glasgow, or London; unless your role requires field-based work. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop, is designed to inspire people, help them connect and bring big ideas to life.

This role in a nutshell: Sitting in the Workday Product Team at OVO, this role shapes and delivers a seamless employee pay lifecycle within Workday. You will leverage in-depth knowledge of Workday’s payroll functionality to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, showcase how Workday can address payroll requirements, provide solutions to business challenges, and deliver value. You will troubleshoot Workday payroll issues quickly and effectively.

Your key outcomes

  • Managing system configuration, security, and business process design for Workday Payroll.
  • Provide end-user troubleshooting, issue remediation, technology request assistance and escalation management as the main point of contact for the in-house OVO payroll team.
  • Ensuring up-to-date knowledge on the latest Workday features and technology releases and recognizing opportunities they bring.
  • Providing support to payroll users through the management and resolution of support tickets raised through the internal JIRA ticket board.
  • Leading Workday Payroll projects, with clearly documented project plans and resourcing requirements. Manage and execute system changes (updates, new configuration) and participate in all aspects of system testing.
  • Supporting internal governance processes around payroll projects.
  • Implementation of new payrolls through company acquisitions.
  • Providing support to the wider Workday HCM team as required.

You’ll be a successful Workday Senior Payroll Specialist at OVO if you…

  • Have a deep knowledge of Workday Payroll.
  • Have Workday certification in Workday payroll.
  • Can manage system configuration, security, and business process design for Payroll.
  • Hold a CIPP qualification in payroll management.
  • Recognize the importance of upholding the highest degree of data confidentiality and security.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Have great customer management experience working with stakeholders at all levels in customer organisations.
  • Are comfortable juggling multiple tasks with variety and maintain timely delivery.
  • Are a self-starter able to work independently.
  • Have experience with additional Workday modules – desirable.
  • Have worked with Workday Report Writer, EIBs, calculated fields, and security – desirable.
  • Are familiar with Workday delivery methodologies – desirable.

We’ll pay between £50,000 – £65,000 depending on your specific skills and experience. We keep our pay ranges broad to align with our zero carbon mission. You’ll be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%. We have a single OVO bonus plan focused on collective performance toward Plan Zero.
