Location and workspace
Depending on the needs of your business area, hub-based colleagues are expected to be in the office at least once a week and attend OVO Connection events in person. You’ll be assigned to the closest hub office (Bristol, Glasgow, or London) unless your role requires field-based work. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop and is designed to inspire collaboration and big ideas.

Role in a nutshell
As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll lead design initiatives across all products, develop interaction patterns, and contribute to OVO’s design vision. Your work will shape user experiences and help establish best design practices within OVO.
Your key outcomes
- Deliver Superior Design Solutions: Pixel-perfect design across screens and platforms, leveraging UI/UX practices and design systems.
- Enhance User Experience: Lead usability studies and A/B testing to ensure intuitive products.
- Ensure Cross-Platform Consistency: Develop and maintain consistent navigation and reusable components for scalability.
- Mentorship and Collaboration: Mentor junior designers and collaborate with senior stakeholders and engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver User-Centred Designs: Create intuitive solutions balancing user needs, business goals, and product vision, informed by data.
- Develop and Maintain Design Systems: Contribute scalable components, patterns, and microcopy for consistency and efficiency.
- Champion Usability and Accessibility: Plan usability testing (including A/B tests) and improve information architecture for accessibility.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with product managers, engineers, and other designers; provide documentation and ensure quality implementation.
- Support Team Growth: Guide colleagues and foster a collaborative environment.
- Engage with OVO\’s Design Community: Participate in the Community of Practice and advance design craft.
Required qualifications and attributes
- Experience designing mobile apps with a strong portfolio in interaction and visual design.
- Strong knowledge of mobile best practices and design systems; ability to work across platforms.
- Proficiency in interaction design, prototyping at various fidelities, and user flows.
- Data-informed design approach using user research and metrics.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with engineering and product teams.
- User-centred mindset with attention to detail and proactive problem-solving.
- Ability to adapt to feedback and continuously improve; resilient with complex challenges.
