Role Summary

You will be the technical cornerstone for our internal developer product, defining the roadmap and vision for the Agentic Development tooling layer – plugins, skills, Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, and observability – and leading a team of seasoned software engineers. Your responsibilities include guiding architecture, ensuring security and governance, mentoring junior talent, and aligning technical strategy with the broader Claude rollout and business goals.

Key Outcomes

  • Lead, mentor and develop a talented engineering team while fostering collaboration and high performance.
  • Drive technical excellence through design, architecture, code reviews and automated testing for scalable solutions and the plugin registry, MCP server governance, and rollout tooling.
  • Continuously assess and recommend new technologies, frameworks and tools to keep our agentic solutions at the cutting edge.
  • Collaborate with internal developer teams, product managers and Infosec to align technical strategy, acting as the key technical voice in the Claude rollout.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts and trade‑offs clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Champion process improvements to boost team productivity and promote continuous learning.
  • Build and contribute to the Agentic Development Community of Practice.

Success Criteria

  • Extensive experience leading software development teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Expertise in designing scalable architectures, especially with TypeScript; experience building developer tools or internal platforms is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of AI development tools, Model Context Protocol (MCP), LLM integration and prompt engineering.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS), containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD automation and observability pipelines (e.g., OTEL collectors).
  • Solid command of software architecture, data modelling and robust security controls for AI tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, mentorship and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinking that balances technical trade‑offs with internal developer needs.
