Principal Project Manager – role in a nutshell:
Principal Project Managers drive enterprise-wide agile projects/programs and strategic initiatives, shaping OVO’s vision and ensuring alignment with critical business objectives. You’ll function as a senior advisor and mentor, contributing to the development of standards and best practices in agile project management. A Principal Project Manager champions innovation, drives strategic transformation, and establishes OVO as a thought leader in agile methodologies.
Your key outcomes will be:
- Strategic Enterprise Vision & Execution: Lead and oversee complex, high-impact enterprise-wide programs that span multiple portfolios, directly influencing OVO strategy and driving transformation.
- Agile Thought Leadership & Standardisation: Develop and champion enterprise-wide agile project management standards and best practices, establishing OVO as a leader in agile methodologies.
- Innovative Agile Solutions & Methodologies: Drive the development and implementation of innovative agile project management methodologies and tools, enhancing organisational agility and efficiency.
- Data-Driven Portfolio & Optimisation: Define, track, and optimise success indicators for agile program success at the portfolio, using data to drive strategic decision‑making and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Strategic Agile Programs: Direct complex, enterprise-wide Agile initiatives aligned with business goals, delivering measurable value and driving strategic outcomes.
- Define and Evolve Agile Practices: Shape and champion Agile standards, methodologies, and tools across the organisation to enhance delivery effectiveness and adaptability.
- Provide Executive-Level Agile Expertise: Advise senior leaders on Agile strategies and implementation, supporting transformation and embedding agility into OVO’s culture.
- Enable Data-Driven Delivery: Establish and track success metrics (KPIs, OKRs), leveraging data and insights to drive continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
- Mentor and Build Capability: Coach senior delivery professionals, foster role‑specific excellence, and support career growth through Communities of Practice and learning pathways.

Compensation & Benefits:
We’ll pay you between £94,000 and £110,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us! We keep our pay ranges broad on purpose to give us, and you, flexibility to match your experience to our zero carbon mission. You’ll be eligible for an on‑target bonus of 15%. We have one OVO bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal.
