Where you’ll work: At OVO, we understand that a one size fits all approach doesn’t work for everyone. That’s why we created the OVO Way of Flexibility. All our roles are hub based (Bristol, Glasgow or London), providing a dedicated space for collaboration, connection and teamwork. You’ll also have the flexibility to work from home.
Everyone belongs at OVO. At OVO, we are on a mission to solve one of humanity's biggest challenges, the climate crisis. And we know it takes all of us to change the world. That's why we need diverse people from all abilities, gender identities, ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, life experiences and backgrounds to join us.
Teamworking for the planet. Everything we do here spins around Plan Zero. So, naturally, the team you’ll be joining plays a gigantic role in making that happen. Here’s how: We’re on a mission to get to zero carbon living. To get there, we need a brand that people trust, understand, and believe in – especially as we bring new products to market.
This role in a nutshell: As our brand and content manager you’ll be at the heart of shaping how OVO shows up. You’ll lead on the brand strategy for new product launches, keep our brand consistent across every touchpoint, and make sure we keep things tight to our brand platform.
Your key outcomes will be:
- Brand strategy and positioning: Build compelling brand positioning statements and reasons to believe for new OVO products and propositions.
- Work closely with our in-house studio to develop messaging frameworks that give teams a clear, consistent way to talk about our products – from the first brief to the final asset.
- Define what makes each product or proposition distinctive – and make sure that comes through in everything we do.
- Work closely with our marketing, CRM and social teams to ensure that products stay close to the positioning, brand and our tone of voice.
Brand guidelines and quality governance: Act as a brand guardian across the business – reviewing work, flagging inconsistencies, and ensuring everything we put out meets the bar. Bring an impeccable eye for detail and strong copy editing and reviewing skills to every piece of work that crosses your desk. Partner with design, content, and product teams to embed brand standards into day-to-day ways of working. Work closely with product, marketing, comms, and commercial teams to ensure brand thinking is embedded early – not bolted on at the end. Build strong, trusted relationships across the business, helping teams take their work from good to great. Present brand strategy and rationale clearly to senior stakeholders.
Influence and brand authority: Bring people along on the brand journey, helping them to realise that brand is there to help, not hinder. Deliver brand training and onboarding sessions to different teams.
AI and brand: Champion the use of AI tools to help OVO stay on brand at scale – from reviewing copy and assets to supporting teams working at speed. Help establish AI as a practical, everyday tool that supports brand consistency across the business. Work with relevant teams to identify where AI can strengthen brand governance without compromising quality or creative judgment. Explore ways that we can bring together more skills, gems and workflows that implement AI across the business, helping to create on brand content.
You’ll be a successful Brand and Content Manager here at OVO if you…
- Have 5 to 8 years of experience in brand management or brand strategy, either brand or client side.
- Can hit the ground running – picking up established frameworks and processes quickly, and applying them at speed to reviews, projects, and briefs.
- Thrive in building real, strong relationships with different people across the entire business.
- Can advocate for the brand in every instance, negotiate with stakeholders - understanding their point of view, but come to a place that doesn’t detract from the brand.
- Have built brand positioning and reasons to believe from scratch, not just maintained what’s already there.
- Can write and present a brand strategy clearly – from product teams to creative teams.
- Care about brand consistency but understand the need to be flexible.
- Thrive in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and ambiguity is part of the job.
