Here's how: Sitting in Commercial, the CRM team is responsible for ensuring we maximise our relationships with our customers. This is core to OVO's ambition to be Britain's decarbonisation partner - helping us better understand our customers and take them on the path to zero carbon.
CRM helps set customer strategies, communicate and engage with our existing customer base through designing customer interventions which are personalised, relevant, timely and across multiple channels. This central role reports to the Head of CRM and leads on CRM data activity, outside of BAU reporting, to support appointment bookings, retention, product take-up, and engagement targets.
This role in a nutshell: The CRM team handles customer communications across all areas of the business - you'll bring in the customer insights to highlight valuable actionable opportunities and help us move our products and the business forward. You'll get familiar with data across the commercial sector and always be driving to answer the question: how can we best meet our customers needs? We'll need you to understand the data assets at play and help us leverage advanced analytics and automation to understand OVO's customers better, personalise experiences, and make smarter and faster business decisions that enable our customers on their Path to Zero.
Key outcomes:
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the customer and commercial objectives within CRM, proactively recommending actionable insights to improve outcomes.
- Generate analysis and reporting to drive data-driven decisions across CRM and commercial, helping to discover actionable plans.
- Promote best practices and ethical data protection and compliance in all activities.
- Develop a deep understanding of business processes and data sources, agree best sources for accuracy, proactively using them to generate recommendations.
- Interrogate data sources, code libraries, and analytical products to ensure alignment and accuracy across domain.
- Actively participate in CRM conversations, interrogating approaches, suggesting tests, and ensuring data consistency and accuracy is considered in all stages.
- Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, marketing managers and commercial leads on relevant ML models, data artifacts, and analytical products.
- Encourage Data-Driven Decision Making: Provide ad-hoc performance reporting, identifying opportunities, and testing outcomes in CRM activities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Establish strong relationships with stakeholders to identify data impacts from broader business activities.
Qualifications:
- Have a quantitative background (degree or equivalent) and proven experience solving complex problems with a customer-centric focus.
- Have excellent presentation and communication skills - able to articulate complex results to non-technical audiences using visualisation software such as Looker and Tableau.
- Statistical knowledge including basic experimental statistics, sampling principles, the meaning of significance, and A/B testing.
- Are an Analytical Translator – you are comfortable operating as the core data expert embedded within a commercially-focused team, and excel at translating non-technical business problems into clear, actionable analytical briefs for stakeholders who do not speak the same data language.
- Strong SQL and code interrogation skills.
- Are a Problem Solver – keep focused on the target while maintaining awareness of external and internal influences to identify the real issues and opportunities.
- Possess High Attention to Detail – ready to question analytical briefs, drive towards the decisions needing to be made and be able to identify details that make a difference.
- Thrive on working with people internal and external to your team with various levels of seniority.
