Where you’ll work:

Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person.

We might not be on the frontline of people’s zero carbon journey, but the Tax Team plays a pivotal role within our finance function, directly contributing to the company\'s sustainable growth and overall strategic objectives. Beyond compliance, this team is crucial in safeguarding and optimizing our financial position, enabling investment, managing risk, and fostering a strong reputation.

This role in a nutshell:

You will be supporting the Direct Tax Lead across all UK Corporate Tax matters for the OVO Group to help ensure we meet all our regulatory tax requirements, manage risk and maximise the value of the Tax Team across the business.

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Tax reporting : Supporting the management and statutory tax accounting and tax reporting for the group and working with the wider finance team to build a strong and efficient process.
  • Tax forecasting : Ensuring the tax position of the group is accurately forecasted for tax payments, optimising the use of tax attributes, and monitoring Corporate Interest Restriction.
  • Tax compliance : Managing the UK corporation tax compliance process working with external advisors.
  • R&D Tax Credits : Managing the preparation of R&D tax credit claims working with external advisors and technology teams.
  • Supporting with HMRC enquiries and administration.
  • Preparation of tax analysis papers for transactions.
  • Providing input into and monitoring of the tax control framework.
  • Supporting transfer pricing requirements and CBCR reporting.
  • Keeping abreast of legislative developments and emerging risks which will affect the group.

  • Have strong tax technical skills and experience in IFRS tax accounting
  • You have some in house tax experience
  • You are organised and thorough in approach with a keen attention to detail and willingness to dig and investigate to resolve problems.
  • You are able to work efficiently and independently to deliver results
  • You have an ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) and present tax information to non tax colleagues with clarity.
  • You have an ability to build relationships with a wide range of internal partners across all levels of seniority and raise the profile of the tax team within the organisation.
  • You enjoy working in a changing environment.

We’ll pay you between £65,000 and £80,000, depending on your specific skills and experience.
