This role in a nutshell: This is a critical hands-on role where you will lead all day-to-day operations of a key OVO office hub. You will be the main facilities point of contact taking Initiative and Ownership over every aspect of the site from compliance, operational finance to significant sustainability initiatives.
Your key outcomes will be:
- Facilities Operations: Own the delivery of all facilities services including cleaning, security, housekeeping and emergency call-outs. Manage planned (PPM) and reactive maintenance schedules.
- Compliance & Safety: Serve as the go-to expert for Health & Safety and fire regulations. Ensure ongoing statutory compliance (e.g. fire systems, electrical testing), manage access control, permits for work and oversee DSE assessments.
- Sustainability & Energy: Drive OVO’s Plan Zero goals by implementing and managing energy monitoring and reporting frameworks. Lead energy efficiency projects (e.g. lighting, HVAC optimisation) and conduct regular audits to deliver cost-saving opportunities.
- Team Leadership: Act as the People Leader for the dedicated Facilities Coordinator focusing on coaching, mentoring and performance management to maintain a high-performing and compliant site team.
- Supplier & Contract Management: Own the relationship with all preferred and subcontracted services (cleaning, security, maintenance) to ensure work is completed safely and satisfactorily. Handle procurement and contract management processes.
- Operational Financial Management: Deliver cost-effective services. Manage expenditure closely, track supplier performance against budget and accurately review, validate and process supplier invoices for sign-off.
- Space Management: Manage space allocation and office relocations.
You’ll be a successful Facilities Manager at OVO if you are an adaptable, organised and detail-oriented person with a strong problem-solving mindset.
Required skills and experience:
- Facilities Management Experience: Previous facilities management experience. IWFM Level 4 qualification is highly desirable.
- Compliance: Excellent knowledge of general building and maintenance projects, Health & Safety and fire regulations. IOSH certification is required.
- Technical System Ownership: Familiarity with and experience in utilising Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems for logging and tracking PPM and reactive works.
- Energy & Sustainability: Demonstrated energy efficiency improvements. Experience with Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS/BMS) or energy consumption tracking and reporting software.
- Operational Excellence: Comfortable balancing multiple priorities simultaneously (maintenance, security, H&S) and delivering them timely.
- Communication: A down-to-earth approachable person able to communicate effectively with internal staff, contractors and suppliers.
