We're looking for Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP) to support us within the Tier 3 weight management program. This is a full-time, fully remote opportunity (UK-based only). Join us today to make a real impact!
Why Oviva? Our goal is a healthier future for everyone. That's why we help people with weight-related illnesses through the most accessible and effective therapy. We offer digital programmes designed to support people with weight-related conditions, including obesity, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, and hypertension. While weight loss is the main goal for many of the people we support, our approach isn't just about the numbers on the scales – it's about improving health, self-confidence, and quality of life. Our proven strategy has helped us become award-winning and the largest digital health provider treating diet-related conditions in Europe. We operate within the healthcare systems to give people access to the medical care they need. We are rapidly expanding across Europe, including the UK, Switzerland, Germany, and now Poland. You will be joining an organization that has treated almost 1 million people to date and is continuing to scale up.
The role involves providing a specialist Tier 3 weight management service for people living with complex obesity. You will work alongside the psychology and dietetics teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a PWP with weight management experience and/or eating disorders experience to be involved in the delivery of a service incorporating a mixed clinical approach. The service offers a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team (MDT) approach, combining consultant-led care with specialist dietetics, clinical and health psychology, as well as leveraging technology to improve participant access and outcomes. The psychology service provides psychological therapy to participants, to aid motivation and success towards their weight management goals. You will be using technology, such as our Oviva app and telephone coaching to provide care remotely and monitor/review patient’s progress in collaboration with the MDT. You will be using theoretical principles from CBT and ACT. While it is important to be able to work autonomously in a weight management setting, you will receive comprehensive training and have access to clinical supervision and support from the Clinical Lead for Psychology or another psychologist in the team.
Job requirements:
- A qualified PWP with at least one year’s experience of working in an IAPT service.
- A minimum of 1 year experience of weight management and/or bariatric experience within a mental health setting, or working with patients with long-term health conditions who are also living with obesity.
- Confident in using technology to record and review patient notes and willingness to learn how to effectively use Oviva’s technology to support patients.
- Experience related to offering weight management support.
- Excellent communicator, able to work well as a member of a team, communicating in a timely and effective manner.
- Confident in managing time efficiently and independently managing a caseload of patients, including booking follow-up appointments and calendar management.
- Experience in providing care remotely and using technology to assist with therapeutic goals.
- Experience of working in diabetes, and/or working with people who have long-term physical health conditions would be preferred; however, training will be provided.
- Experience of working in an MDT, e.g. with dietitians.
- Experience related to offering physical activity support.
Education/Qualifications:
- BABCP registration
- Postgraduate Diploma as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner
Job responsibilities:
- Delivering one-to-one patient weight management care remotely via phone or video calls and/or using the Oviva smartphone app.
- Assessing patients for psychological therapy as part of the weight management service; to independently select and employ appropriate initial assessment methods.
- Creating individual formulations based on initial screening and assessment, providing therapeutic weight management and lifestyle change input for patients identified as suitable within the Tier 3 service, alongside dietetic support.
- Working autonomously, being responsible for appropriately managing clinical risk when it arises during clinical practice, while having recourse to other professionals for guidance.
- To maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and abide by internal recording guidelines.
- To maintain adequate CPD, receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with good practice guidelines and continue to meet BABCP registration requirements.
- Maintaining confidentiality of information in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act and ensuring that participant confidentiality is protected at all times.
- Creating relevant internal or patient-facing content for the service, as required.
What we offer:
- The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in revolutionising healthcare.
- Exciting and rewarding role in a high-growth environment.
- Training and development opportunities, with a personal learning allowance.
- We embrace flexibility & remote working.
- We provide a home working allowance to enable you to set up your workspace in a way which suits you.
- Competitive Salary & company pension.
