The Role

As BI Manager, you will lead our UK Business Intelligence team and partner with stakeholders across clinical, operations, finance, and commercial functions to deliver scalable insights and reporting. You will be responsible for supporting data-driven decision making at all levels, while building and mentoring a team of talented analysts. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will balance delivery, stakeholder engagement, and people development. You’ll thrive in this role if you are a hands-on technical leader with a collaborative mindset and a passion for building impactful BI solutions.

Requirements

  • A results-driven, pragmatic mindset, ability to cope with and improve imperfect data sets
  • 2-4 years experience in managing direct reports and running team processes, within at least 6 years experience working in data analytics or business intelligence area
  • Comfortable working with and managing senior stakeholders (Director-level and above)
  • Fluent in using complex SQL to solve hard problems
  • Hands-on mentality and approach
  • Experienced in dbt and able to determine what set of models are required
  • Comfortable with data visualization tools such as: Google Data Studio, MS Power BI, Looker, Mode, Preset, Metabase, Thoughtspot or Tableau
  • Fluency in English

Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop and mentor a team of analysts, helping them reach new levels of performance and skill
  • Collaborate closely with Business, Data Science and Engineering & Commercial stakeholders, coordinating and delivering on key projects
  • Design and drive adoption of processes for standardisation, best practice and self-service practices across the BI team
  • Design and set new standards for high quality dashboards and reporting for the UK
  • Lead the team on development of the complex suites of models as part of our enterprise data model in dbt and allow internal stakeholders to generate their own reports
  • Lead and design analysis of complex challenges in our operational and patient care to help drive best-in-class care and improve the efficiency of Oviva
  • Deliver various ad-hoc analytical reports or insights for Executive to C-Suite decision making
  • Lead transformation projects and OKRs to achieve step change improvements at Oviva
  • Use Machine Learning Python Libraries to dig deeper into analyses and use the output to improve our reporting
