We're looking for a Clinical Psychologist on a permanent contract with HCPC registration or a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology to join our Tier 3 weight management team at Oviva. We welcome all applicants for both part-time (min. 16 hours weekly) and full-time positions with a flexible working pattern.

The role involves providing a specialist Tier 3 weight management service for people living with complex obesity. You will work alongside the psychology and dietetics teams, delivering psychological therapy to aid motivation and success towards weight management goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering one-to-one patient weight management care remotely via phone or video calls and/or using the Oviva smartphone app.
  • Assessing patients for psychological therapy as part of the weight management service.
  • Collaborating with the MDT regarding the care of participants and providing specialised advice during clinical supervision sessions.
  • Creating individual formulations based on initial screening and assessment.
  • Managing clinical risk appropriately during clinical practice.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of information in line with the Data Protection Act.
  • Creating relevant internal or patient-facing content for the service.

About You:

Essential:

  • Confident in managing time efficiently and independently managing a caseload of patients.
  • Excellent communicator, able to work well as a member of a team.
  • A qualified Clinical Psychologist with a minimum of 1 year experience in weight management and/or bariatric experience.
  • An understanding of the issues many people living with obesity face.
  • Able to provide supportive, empathetic patient-centred care.

Desirable:

  • Experience related to offering physical activity support.
  • Experience of working in an MDT.
  • Experience of working in eating disorders, diabetes, and/or with people who have long-term physical health conditions.
