As part of the Operational Excellence team, the Health & Safety Engineer Europe (m/f/x) will have the main responsibilities of driving security within their geographical scope within the OVHcloud group (Erith, Limburg an der Lahn, Milan, and Ozarow) and reducing accidents while advancing the security culture within the company. The role of the operational excellence team is to support the Group’s rapid growth by defining the most efficient, agile, innovative processes that meet our customers’ needs.
Your main responsibilities:
- Risk and incident management
- Assist and participate in the analysis of accidents, incidents, near misses and situations of risk;
- Support new industrial datacentre sites in their security policies and culture, in connection with the company's growth projects;
- Decline locally and follow the action plans defined by the compliance and industrial risks teams;
- Define and implement awareness-raising and HSE training actions at Group level.
- Define the HSE Europe roadmap in order to improve the security culture within the company by integrating the priorities of the group and sites;
- Develop and update occupational health and safety risk mapping in close coordination with regions;
- Assess and prioritise occupational and psychosocial risks and implement associated action plans;
- Identify and track the necessary corrective and preventive actions;
- Support the regions and operational departments in the Hygiene & Safety section, particularly those based in Germany, UK, Poland, Italy and France.
Definition, implementation and management of HSE KPIs for its scope:
- Ensure KPI reporting and action plan progress at different levels of the company: H&S Committee, Corporate Social Committee, COMEX member, Operational Directors, Regional DC Managers, etc.
- Define and update security KPIs;
- Manage KPIs while raising awareness and empowering Operations Managers and teams.
Define, optimise, update processes, procedures and instructions:
- Support HSE group projects.
- Define security rules for the regions under its responsibility;
- Be responsible for the security aspects of new designs, and define the associated process.
- Formalise the HSE processes and procedures required for the organisation to operate and adapted to the location;
- Set up the HSE documentation and ensure that it is implemented.
Control of HSE audits for its scope:
- Create the audit plan for the Europe zone;
- Define and conduct HSE audits based on internal or external repositories;
- Conduct ongoing monitoring of safety and environmental regulations and legislation.
Skills required:
- You have knowledge of ISO 45 001 and an international work culture in Europe;
- You are autonomous and able to work in a fast and challenging environment.
- You are open to the world and working in an international context is an important criteria for you;
- You hold a diploma in a technical field (mechanical, electronic etc.) with a double specialisation in security;
- You have successfully completed a multi-site animation and management experience;
- You have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in an HSE engineer position in an industrial company with an international scope and significant field experience.
