Overview has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Operations Lead. Reporting to the CEO, the Marketing Operations Lead will ensure that marketing activities align with the company's overall objectives and strategy, but will have a day-to-day focus on exhibitions, product documentation, internal comms, and cross-team coordination. This role requires a strong on-site presence to work closely with the product manager, engineers, BD team and business leaders to ensure accurate technical communication and operational readiness. This role is offered on a part-time, office-based basis; actual hours and working pattern can be agreed. The salary advertised is the full-time equivalent and will be prorated depending on experience and agreed hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the marketing team to enable them to be the most effective in their daily work, driving alignment with other departments, and ensuring that campaigns deliver the desired results.
  • Serve as the marketing project manager to integrate campaigns from inception through to execution and measurement.
  • Support the Marketing and communications manager in all communication avenues, including the Management and ongoing development of the intranet, internet and all internal and external comms.
  • Lead exhibition planning, logistics, stand preparation, and onsite attendance.
  • Liaising with the Product Manager to ensure a smooth process.
  • Assist BD managers in preparing demos, documentation, and physical collateral.
  • Coordinate engineering and technical teams to generate product content inputs.
  • Lead creation of customer-facing product and technical documentation (working directly with the Technical Director on‑site).
  • Support sales with event-driven lead capture and follow-up tasks.
  • Own print assets, product sheets, and physical brand materials.
  • Management of budgets and timelines for campaigns.
  • Operational major product campaign management, ensuring asset creation and production deadlines are met and that campaigns are delivered and measured effectively.
  • Managing brand identity.

Personal Skills and Qualifications

Mandatory

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in a technical discipline or Marketing.
  • Ability to understand and articulate technical information.
  • Experience in Marketing and Communications leadership, gained within engineering businesses where product innovation and development are key.
  • A natural communicator with the ability to communicate complex messages and technical aspects accurately and succinctly both verbally, in writing and in presentations to the highest possible standard.
  • Security/defence industry experience in B2B marketing.
  • Highly customer-centric with strong personal gravitas, commercial appreciation, and a natural networker.
  • Fully computer literate and experienced with MS Office applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of current social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn and YouTube.
  • Commercially astute & driven to achieve both personal and company success.
  • Innovative and a self-starter.
  • Team player with a start-up mentality – we muck in and win together.
  • Keen to understand the big picture and the fine details.

Preferred

  • Experience in the development, maintenance, and optimisation of websites.
  • Experienced in the use of email campaign software.
  • Leading graphic design and have a creative flair.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
