Salary:£24,000 per annum before the deduction of tax and National Insurance

Working Hours:

  • 35 working hours per week.
  • 8.00 am to 4.00 pm with one-hour unpaid lunch break.

Paid over 52 weeks.

Holiday Entitlement:13 weeks paid holiday annually.

Job Details:

A Learning Behaviour Mentor is required at Overstone Park Independent Therapeutic School in Northampton on a permanent basis. To work in the Preparatory department with pupils in Key Stages 1 and 2.

The Behaviour Support Learning Mentor will provide a complementary service to teachers and other staff, addressing the needs of children who require assistance in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential, or accessing the curriculum.

The Behaviour Support Learning Mentor will work with a range of pupils, but give priority to those who need the most help, especially those experiencing multiple disadvantages, including:

  • Children with special or medical needs.
  • Children with a statement of special educational needs.
  • Challenging behaviour.

The Behaviour Support Learning Mentor will be education‑based but will have a wider remit, including working with families and the wider community.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in childcare or Health and Social Care.
  • Training is offered.
  • Three years of working with children or within the care sector.
