Overview

Behaviour Mentors are required at Overstone Independent School in Northampton on a permanent basis.

Base pay range: £22,000.00 to £23,000 per annum before tax and National Insurance. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Job Details

Position: Teaching Assistant – Full Time available

Flexible Hours Available as shown. Full-time teaching assistant: 8.00am to 4.00pm, with one hour unpaid lunch break. 35 working hours per week, paid over 52 weeks. 13 weeks paid holiday annually.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a complementary service to teachers and other staff, addressing the needs of children who require assistance in overcoming barriers to learning to achieve their full potential or access the curriculum.
  • Work with a range of pupils with priority given to those most in need, including those experiencing multiple disadvantages such as:
  • Children with special or medical needs
  • Challenging behaviour
  • Children with a statement of special educational needs
  • Work predominantly in an education setting but with a wider remit including working with families and the wider community.
  • One-to-one or small/large group work as a listener, facilitator for learning, encourager, motivator and role model.
  • Support pupils with additional needs and behaviours that impact attainment; help improve progress and achievement by minimizing barriers to learning and maximizing participation.
  • Qualifications

    • Qualification in Level 2 or 3 in childcare or Health and Social Care.
    • Training is offered.
    • Experience: Three years of working with children or within the care sector.
