We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles (mainly Landrovers) ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive mechanics and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. The position involves working with modern diagnostic tools and equipment, contributing to the efficient operation of our service centre.
Working hours: Monday - Friday, 8.30 am - 6 pm (42 hours per week).
Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs.
- Carry out welding and equipment repair as needed to restore vehicle integrity.
- Assist in the maintenance of workshop tools and machinery to ensure optimal operational condition.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and addressing client concerns professionally.
- Undertake heavy lifting when required to move parts or equipment safely within the workshop.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose complex vehicle issues accurately.
- Landrover experience desirable.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams.
- Experience with assembly, disassembly, and repair of automotive systems using hand tools and power tools.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures for various vehicle components.
- Ability to perform welding and equipment repairs effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude towards clients.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and manual handling of vehicle parts or equipment.
- Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics software is required.
