Business Analyst (Operations, Commercial & Product)
Overchain | Full-Time | London, Aldgate | Hybrid
Team: Operations, Commercial & Product
About Overchain
Overchain is the settlement layer for global businesses moving money across fiat and stablecoins. We provide the infrastructure that allows financial institutions, payment service providers, brokerages, fund administrators, and large corporates to receive, convert, and settle value at institutional speed and standards, with compliance built in from the ground up.
We sit at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets. Our founders come from institutional FX and payments, and the business is run with the same discipline: deep banking integrations, reliable execution, OTC depth, and white-glove service for clients that move serious money.
As we take on more institutional volume, we need a clearer picture of how our own operations run. We are hiring a Business Analyst in London to document that, find where processes break down, and help us plan the next phase of growth.
The Role
You’ll document how the business currently works and turn that into requirements the product and engineering teams can build from. That means working across operations, compliance, sales, and product to understand existing processes and find where they fail.
Day to day you’ll interview people, write up current processes, and identify where manual work, settlement gaps, or weak controls create risk. What you find feeds directly into what we build next.
You’ll work closely with the Head of Product and Engineering, alongside teams in sales, compliance, and operations. The role is hybrid, based out of our Aldgate office in London.
This is an early career role, likely to suit someone in their first or second business analyst, operations analyst, or product analyst position.
Key Responsibilities
- Interview people across sales, compliance, and operations, and document current workflows, commercial processes, and legacy spreadsheets as clear process maps.
- Set out who owns each decision and handoff, and separate what the business intended from what an external provider reports and what the product can safely conclude.
- Record missing information, exceptions, and approval points rather than leaving them assumed.
- Work with the Head of Product and Engineering to turn operational problems into written requirements and delivery plans.
- Find where manual errors, settlement gaps, or compliance risks occur, and design processes that cope when something goes wrong.
- Map operational capacity, bottlenecks, and handovers so leadership can plan for new institutional flows and partners.
- Use LLMs and AI tools to speed up documentation, synthesis, and research, and check the output before relying on it.
Requirements
- Early experience in a business analyst, operations analyst, or product analyst role, or another analytical role you can evidence.
- You ask the awkward questions, spot the steps missing from a process, and do not accept “because we have always done it that way”.
- You work in a structured, visual way. You turn messy conversations into clear diagrams, decision tables, and documentation people will actually read, without being asked to.
- You already use AI in your daily work to get through things faster, and you know how to check the output and discard what is not good enough.
- You work well in a scale-up where the day to day changes, priorities move, and you are expected to create order out of ambiguity.
- Bonus points for familiarity with digital assets or crypto, Gherkin/BDD syntax, or process mapping tools such as Miro, BPMN, or Lucidchart.
What We Offer
- A role that covers operations, compliance, sales, and product, so you see how the whole business works.
- Regular contact with leadership across product, engineering, and finance, and room to grow the role as we scale.
- Ownership of your own discovery work and a real say in how we operate and build.
- Practical exposure to payments infrastructure, digital assets, and fintech operations.
- Hybrid working from our Aldgate office in London.
- £45,000 to £65,000 base salary, dependent on experience.
- Support for professional development and ongoing training.
