About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and committed Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our school community. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while working towards a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship, developing the skills needed to support children with high‑quality, professional care. You will be fully supported throughout your journey by both Over Hall Community and the apprentice provider Lift Schools, ensuring you receive high‑quality training, guidance, and mentoring at every stage of your apprenticeship.
Training & Qualification
As part of your role, you will complete a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship, a nationally recognised qualification designed to ensure you are fully equipped to support pupils effectively.

Training Costs: Fully funded (no cost to you)
Your Learning & Development
Although this is a full‑time role, dedicated time will be built into your working week to complete your apprenticeship coursework, training, and study. You will receive:
- 6 hours per week off‑the‑job training, including:
- Personal study and portfolio development (with monthly 1:1 sessions with Lift Schools trainers)
- Practical development, including:
- Safeguarding, Prevent, GDPR, and school‑based training
- Shadowing experienced colleagues
- Supporting children with additional needs
- Applying new knowledge, skills, and behaviours in the workplace
This structured approach ensures you can successfully balance your job role with your qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning within the classroom.
- Assist children individually and in small groups.
- Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Support children with a range of needs, including those requiring additional support.
- Work alongside experienced staff to develop your skills and confidence.
- Develop an understanding of students' learning needs, including specific SEND needs, in order to support their access to lesson content and achieve the learning objectives.
- Help students to develop independent learning skills and to manage their own learning.
- Work in partnership with teachers to plan and deliver high quality lessons, and assess students' learning.
