Being part of Outwood Academy City Fields is about bringing high-quality opportunities and experiences to our diverse school. We wish to employ someone who can provide meaningful engagement and help all children, staff and visitors thrive in the areas they work. City Fields is a multicultural school in the heart of the Wakefield community. Our school supports the local community and the wealth of opportunities our diverse background brings. Anyone wanting to take on this role should be prepared to challenge themselves to meet the needs of a diverse community.

Ofsted noted that putting students first is something that directs and guides actions each day. Because leaders set such a strong example of their high ambitions for pupils, other staff mirror these aspirations. Outwood Academy City Fields is a school where leaders want the very best for pupils in whatever walk of life they engage in.

We are looking for an individual who has high aspirations for students, who is committed and passionate about learning; who has the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of Students First. We are seeking to appoint an Advanced Teaching Assistant with the drive to contribute to an atmosphere of respect, recognition, optimism and mutual support within the school which promotes equality within and values the diversity of the school community.

You will be required to work closely with members of our Inclusion Team and have the energy and creativity to develop and inspire students' learning. The role of an Advanced Teaching Assistant across our Academy is to promote the learning and welfare of children by providing practical and learning support to children with communication and interaction needs, including those with Education Health Care Plans under the direction of the class teacher, SENDCo or the extended inclusion team.

This will involve planning, preparing and delivering bespoke interventions to support students to help with their ability to communicate with others, understand social cues and express themselves with confidence; to record and review the impact of these interventions so as to inform the next steps and identify any further interventions that may be required.

Outwood Grange Academies Trust provides a high-quality learning and cultural environment that inspires and motivates children. Whether you are ambitious for progression or determined to be an outstanding member of our support team, Outwood Academy City Fields is the place for you.

If you are considering this role, the chances are that you already have a passion for supporting children during their time in school and we would welcome the opportunity for an informal conversation or for you to come and see our warm inclusive setting. For further information please contact Alison Rigby.
