Lead the management of the Personalised Learning Centre (PLC) and strategically identify and deliver alternative courses and intervention strategies relevant to vulnerable student cohorts. Requires a proactive approach to multi‑agency collaboration, a passion for mentoring, and a focus on removing barriers to learning.
Responsibilities- Identify student cohorts for the alternative curriculum and deliver relevant courses.
- Act as single point of contact for accessing specialist support services such as Social and Youth Services, Education Welfare Service, and Probation Service.
- Develop and implement time‑bound action plans with SMART targets to remove learning barriers.
- Establish and maintain supportive mentoring relationships.
- Undertake necessary student testing (e.g., Lucid).
- Support and encourage pupils toward further education, apprenticeships, or employment.
- Experience working in a school environment with young people facing specific difficulties and vulnerabilities.
- Knowledge of issues affecting students and young people to offer supportive assistance.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
- Proficiency in standard ICT packages.
- Ability to develop programmes that build self‑esteem and confidence.
