Outwood Academy Haydock, a thriving 11-16 academy serving the vibrant community of St Helens in Merseyside, is seeking an exceptional Temporary Advanced Teaching Assistant (until 31/08/2027) to join our dynamic and supportive team! Responsibilities
- Deliver planned learning activities under the direction of the class teacher.
- Support students to access the curriculum in both classroom and online learning environments.
- Facilitate the effective use of adaptive technology and specialist resources such as laptops, speech‑to‑text software, and magnification aids.
- Assist across multiple subjects while supporting student health, safety, and wellbeing by monitoring movement around the academy.
- Oversee transitions and emergency procedures while maintaining an appropriate distance to encourage student independence.
- Monitor and record progress and responses to learning through agreed systems, sharing any concerns with the SEND team as required.
Qualifications
- Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Relevant Level 3 qualification relating to working with children and young people.
- Confident IT skills to navigate diverse environments and support the use of specialist learning tools.
- Exceptional communication skills that enable you to build positive relationships with both students and staff.
- A warm, approachable manner and a positive attitude.
