Salary: £23,528 – £24,303 (NJC Grade 6)

Working Pattern: 35 hours per week – Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 3:30 pm

Outwood Academy Redcar welcomes students aged 11‑16, located in the coastal town of Redcar near Middlesbrough in the North‑East region. About the Role

Outwood Academy Redcar seeks to appoint a colleague to coordinate our bespoke provisions to our wonderful student community. You will join our existing Inclusion team and become a member of the Outwood family. Working as part of the Inclusion team, you will promote the learning and welfare of vulnerable students with a view to achieving full integration back into mainstream school, following a measurable provision delivered by yourself. This is a challenging but rewarding role for the right candidate. You will work closely with the senior leadership team and the Inclusion team to manage the room and provide appropriate and personalised timetables for individual students and groups. You will have the aspiration to transform lives. The role will allow you to explore the possibilities of delivering alternative courses to cohorts of students and provide them with relevant qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Identify student cohorts for the alternative curriculum and deliver relevant courses to provide necessary qualifications.
  • Act as the single point of contact for accessing specialist support services such as Social and Youth Services, the Education Welfare Service, and the Probation Service.
  • Develop and implement time‑bound action plans with SMART targets to remove barriers to learning.
  • Establish and maintain supportive mentoring relationships.
  • Undertake necessary student testing (e.g., Lucid).
  • Support and encourage pupils toward further education, apprenticeships, or employment.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a school environment with young people who have faced specific difficulties and vulnerabilities.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting students and young people, enabling supportive assistance.
  • Effective communication with a wide range of audiences.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in standard ICT packages.
  • Ability to develop programmes of work that build self‑esteem and confidence.
