Responsibilities:

  • The technician provides professional first-line ICT support to staff and students, managing allocated workloads via the helpdesk system.
  • Key duties involve assisting with the maintenance of all ICT rooms and equipment, and providing general technical support for the department.
  • Responsibilities include the commissioning, testing, maintenance, and repair of electronic and computer systems, associated peripherals, and AV equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • They also assist in installing and configuring software under direction, updating inventories, and evaluating new and existing software.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should possess experience working in an IT support role.
  • Practical experience with Active Directory and user account management is required, along with a good understanding of current software operating systems.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and VLANs, and exposure to automated OS and software deployment techniques are essential.
  • Desirable experience includes anti-virus solutions, connecting mobile devices to centralized services, or working in a school environment.
  • Essential skills include effective communication, respecting confidentiality/security, and demonstrating excellent time management.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to enhance their qualifications.
