Role Education Welfare Officer/Attendance Manager (Maternity Cover) at Outwood Academy Danum, starting October 2026. Salary £31,591.48 (actual salary). Working Pattern 37 hours per week, term time plus 4 weeks.

Responsibilities: You will lead the attendance team and apply the academy's attendance and punctuality policy. Your duties include:

  • Identifying pupils in need of support due to absence, assessing their needs, and planning effective interventions.
  • Conducting home visits and coordinating with safeguarding agencies.
  • Managing the legal framework by identifying cases for court or penalty referrals, preparing evidence and acting as a witness when required.
  • Preparing and analysing regular data reports for senior leadership.
  • Leading regular attendance panels and fast‑track meetings.

Qualifications: Relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent professional qualification. Experience using an education welfare, social work, or counselling approach with parents and children. Strong background in record‑keeping and report writing. Knowledge of the legislative framework governing school attendances. Resilience and ability to work effectively in conflict‑ridden situations.
