Teacher of Business Studies (Including T Level Management and Administration)

Academy: Outwood Academy Adwick

Start Date: September 2026 or January 2027 (subject to negotiation)

Salary: £32,916 - £51,048

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and high‑quality lessons at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5, inspiring students to develop a love for business and problem‑solving.
  • Contribute to a broad and balanced curriculum and support initiatives to increase the uptake of Business at KS4 and KS5.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Department and Senior Leadership Team to drive achievement and raise standards in the department.
  • Implement a wide range of teaching and learning strategies, including Assessment for Learning (AfL), to continually improve student performance.
  • Use student level data to identify areas for development and raise standards.
  • Maintain high expectations for all students and communicate effectively with students and their parents, both orally and in writing.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the team, sharing good practice across the department, and demonstrate creativity in problem‑solving and a willingness to adopt new approaches.

Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher with a passion for Business.
  • Experience teaching at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 and ability to motivate and engage learners.
  • Commitment to student success and continuous professional development.
  • Innovative approach to teaching, with an interest in shaping the future of business education.
  • Degree in an appropriate discipline related to the relevant subject, teaching qualification, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Recent and relevant teaching experience, including assessment at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Confidence in using standard computer packages (word processing, email, spreadsheets) and understanding how these tools can enhance student learning.
  • Professionalism, ability to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner, and capacity to recognise potential child safeguarding issues.
