As Principal of Outwood Academy City, I am proud to introduce our amazing academy. Since my arrival, new leaders have begun to transform the culture of the school, and we invite you to join us on this transformative journey. Serving the bustling city of Sheffield, Outwood Academy City has undergone significant transformation for its 1200 students, featuring an innovative curriculum and a personalised approach to learning that enables our young people to realise their vocational, practical, creative, and academic abilities.

Pupils learn an ambitious curriculum that has been carefully sequenced to provide the best chance for success. Our students are a special group, and they are at the heart of everything we do. Alongside our ambitious curriculum, high-quality pastoral care ensures that pupils at Outwood Academy City are safe and well-cared for.

We welcome enthusiastic, dedicated, and hard-working individuals to join us on our mission. We have won numerous awards as a school and are an IQM Centre of Excellence, highlighting the importance of inclusion at all levels. We are also proud to have been awarded Gold Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health.

The Art department at Outwood Academy City is situated in the heart of the academy, featuring two large sunny rooms and a dedicated clay room with an adjacent kiln and store. A short distance away, there is a separate Art 1-2-1 space for small group interventions. Art is very popular with students at City, and those who opt for the subject expect to excel. Historically, Art and photography results have been strong, with Art students achieving significantly higher progress than in other subjects. Currently, there are two Art teachers and a part-time technician/intervention tutor.

Visits to the academy are warmly welcomed and encouraged. For further details, please contact Louise Ashton, Principal's PA.
