Outwood Academy Newbold is rated Good with Outstanding leadership by Ofsted, and we are based in the large, friendly Derbyshire town of Chesterfield, near Derby and Sheffield. We recognise that a child's time at school is irreplaceable and that education provides the bedrock for success in every area of life. This is why we take a holistic view to student development, placing equal value on vocational, practical, creative and academic ability.

Since joining the Outwood Family in 2015, we have been on a journey of transformation and improvement, which has seen our results improve. We are delighted that after its latest inspection of the academy, Ofsted noted that 'parents, staff and pupils are positive about the changes that have been made to the school'. We believe our success speaks for itself as we are above the national average for the number of students achieving at a Grade 5 or above in English & Maths GCSEs. We are also proud to have been awarded Gold Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award.

Our knowledge-rich curriculum has something for everyone, with extra guidance for those requiring additional support, and we do whatever it takes to help young people develop a sense of responsibility. We believe we are on a journey to Outstanding. Help to take us to the next level.

We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice. All academies within the Outwood Family have gained the IQM Inclusive Schools Award, with 18 having Centre of Excellence status and one holding Flagship status. If you share our vision, join our family.

As a key figure in our 'family', you will be expected to contribute to the daily support of the school and ensure all our pupils are catered for during their time in our setting. Your team will consist of a SENDCo, SEND Officers, Inclusion Administrator and Teaching Assistants. We are seeking to appoint an Inclusion Officer with the drive to contribute to an atmosphere of respect, recognition, and mutual support within the school. Promoting equality and supporting the values and diversity of the school community is essential to our ethos.

Our Inclusion Officer will support our SENDCo to ensure the Academy identifies and addresses the needs of our students. You will work with SEND, disadvantaged and vulnerable groups of students to ensure appropriate support is offered so students can thrive. The successful candidate needs to be extremely well-organised and have the ability to prioritise workload, ensure strict deadlines are met and adhere to the SEND Code of Practice.

Working with the most vulnerable children in society, it is fundamental that you can deal with challenges that students present and work with parents and external agencies in a professional, prompt and confidential manner. The ability to work on your own initiative, be a role model to others and effectively manage others is essential. The Outwood Family provides a high-quality learning and cultural environment that inspires and motivates children.

For more information, contact Abigail Penman, SENDCo on a.penman@newbold.outwood.com or 01246 230550. We also recommend you visit the Academy, where you will be very welcome.
