This role involves supervising whole classes during short‑term teacher absences and implementing work programmes under the guidance of teaching staff.
Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes during short‑term teacher absence.
- Implement pre‑set work programmes under the guidance of teaching staff.
- Manage student behaviour according to the Consequences Policy to maintain a constructive working environment.
- Assist in preparing the environment and materials, respond to student questions about the set work, and collect completed assignments.
- Supervise student entry/departure, accurately record and report lesson attendance.
- Support examination logistics by assisting in exam invigilation and reporting pupil behaviour or issues using referral procedures.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills with a wide range of audiences.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use standard ICT packages, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner and recognise potential child safeguarding issues.
- Desirable: experience working in a school environment.
