Hourly Rate: £28.44 PAYE or £38.21 Umbrella (inside IR35)

Overview

BAE Systems are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tooling Designer to join their team, where you will be at the forefront of designing tooling solutions to support the manufacture of detail and assembly components for Typhoon Major Units and Final Assembly build lines.

Skills

  • Experience in tool design and manufacturing within the aerospace industry
  • Strong knowledge of engineering toolsets such as CATIA V5, PLM (or equivalent Product Data Manager), SAP CAM, SFM, CDP, and VAS
  • Strong understanding of detail and assembly manufacturing processes

The Job

  • Liaise with the design and engineering organisations to provide design-for-manufacture input. You will be responsible for scheming and designing tooling solutions that meet exacting standards.
  • Work with various data streams (design data, PTS's, etc.) to ensure tooling designs are fit for purpose and align with production requirements.
  • Collaborate with planning engineers and subject matter experts to ensure the tool designs align with the overall manufacturing solutions and assembly processes.
  • Apply thorough knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure component interchangeability (ICY) is achieved.
