Product Development Engineer Location: Glascoed, Monmouthshire Contract: 12 Months Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Thursday, 7:15am–5:00pm (Friday off) Rate: £28.47 per hour PAYE or £38.25 via umbrella (Inside IR35) The Opportunity We are recruiting for a Product Development Engineer to join BAE Systems' Artillery Development team at Glascoed. This is an exciting opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, supporting the design, development, testing, and evaluation of complex defence products and systems. The role offers a unique blend of hands-on engineering, product development, systems engineering, and trial activities, providing exposure to cutting-edge defence technologies in a highly collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Support the design, development, and evaluation of new and legacy defence products. Apply engineering and systems engineering techniques including DFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Pugh Matrix assessments. Conduct technical investigations, root cause analysis, and develop effective engineering solutions. Support hands-on product development activities, including work with energetic and specialist materials. Plan, manage, and execute product and process trials, including the creation of trial plans, risk assessments, and technical reports.
