Location: Preston / Frimley (flexible)

Working Pattern: Predominantly remote (occasional onsite)

Contract: 12 months (high likelihood of extension)

Hours: 37 per week

Rate: £497.77 PAYE / £672.74 Umbrella (Inside IR35)

Clearance: BPSS + SC eligibility required

Overview: We're supporting BAE Systems to find two Solution Architects to join their Shared Services Enterprise IT team, delivering critical solutions across multiple programmes. This is a hands-on, end-to-end architecture role where you’ll take ownership from early requirements capture through to design, governance, and delivery - working closely with stakeholders across business and technical teams.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Designing and delivering end-to-end solution architectures aligned to business needs
  • Defining as-is and to-be architectures across applications, data, and technology
  • Acting as technical authority across projects, working with dev and test teams
  • Ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose, scalable, and aligned to standards
  • Collaborating with Project Managers, BAs, service design, and suppliers
  • Supporting planning, estimation, and risk management
  • Driving governance, change control, and design assurance
