We’re looking for an experienced Wintel Engineer to join a large-scale enterprise environment supporting critical infrastructure and virtualization platforms onsite in Barrow-in-Furness. This role will focus on the administration, support and optimisation of Windows and VMware environments, ensuring high availability, resilience and performance across key systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support VMware ESXi, vCenter and virtual environments
- Manage VMware clusters, virtual machines and distributed switching
- Support storage replication and disaster recovery solutions
- Work with Cisco ACI and network virtualization technologies
- Perform upgrades, migrations and capacity planning activities
- Troubleshoot complex Wintel and virtualization issues
- Ensure systems remain compliant with security and operational standards
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience with VMware ESXi, vCenter and VDS
- Windows Server administration experience
- Knowledge of SRDF Metro and storage replication technologies
- Familiarity with Cisco ACI and network integration
- Experience working within large enterprise environments
- Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery solutions
Desirable
- VMware certifications (VCP / VCAP)
- Microsoft certifications (MCSA / MCSE)
- Automation experience using PowerShell or Ansible

- Active SC Clearance required
- Must be a sole UK British National (no dual nationality)
