A leading global engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join its growing design team. This is a hybrid role, with 2 days per week in the office and flexibility to be based from multiple locations across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to take a lead role on high-profile, multidisciplinary projects across sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, and education.

The Role

  • Lead the delivery of mechanical building services design on complex projects, ensuring high-quality, integrated solutions.
  • Work closely with other disciplines, playing a key role in coordinating designs and presenting technical solutions to clients.
  • Lead and manage project teams (up to 10 engineers).
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor junior staff.
  • Oversee project delivery and resolve technical challenges.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
  • Strong experience in building services mechanical design (essential).
  • Consultancy background.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
