About the Role
- We are currently recruiting for a
- Strategic Supply Chain Officer to join
BAE Systems at their Warton site .
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supply chain professional to work within a high-profile engineering and defence environment, supporting strategic supply chain activities and helping to ensure effective supplier performance, delivery and commercial outcomes.
- Support the development and implementation of strategic supply chain plans and objectives .
- Manage and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor supplier performance, including cost, quality, delivery and risk .
- Identify and support opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency and continuous improvement .
- Analyse supply chain data and provide reports and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Support supplier reviews, performance improvement plans and escalation activities.
- Work collaboratively with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, quality and project teams.
- Identify potential supply chain risks and support appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Ensure supply chain activities are aligned with business requirements and contractual obligations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the wider supply chain function.
The successful candidate will ideally have
- Previous experience within supply chain, procurement, purchasing or supplier management .
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Good understanding of supplier performance, cost, delivery and risk management .
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good IT skills, particularly
Microsoft Excel and other business systems .
- Experience within aerospace, defence, engineering or manufacturing would be advantageous.
