The Opportunity We're supporting BAE Systems in the search for an experienced Portfolio Manager to join a major Technology Delivery programme within their Munitions business.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex engineering and R&D work packages supporting the scale-up of technology into operational capability.
Working closely with Programme Leadership and Engineering teams, you'll drive planning, governance, risk management and delivery performance across a strategically important defence programme.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Managing scope, budget, schedules and change control across key programme activities.
- Driving robust project governance, controls and reporting.
- Managing programme risks, opportunities, assumptions and dependencies.
- Owning integrated planning activities and milestone delivery.
- Providing clear visibility of programme performance to senior stakeholders.
- Working closely with technical and engineering teams to remove blockers and maintain delivery momentum.
- We're Looking For
- Strong Project Manager, Programme Manager or Portfolio Manager experience.
- Experience delivering complex engineering, manufacturing, defence or R&D programmes.
- Strong planning, scheduling and project controls capability.
- Experience managing RAID logs, budgets and programme governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work within fast-paced, evolving technical environments.
Desirable Experience
- Defence, aerospace, nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
- Microsoft Project, SAP or similar programme management tools.
- Manufacturing scale-up or production readiness programmes.
- APM, PRINCE2, PMI or equivalent project management qualifications.
Security Requirements Due to the nature of the work, successful applicants must be eligible to obtain the appropriate UK security clearance.
