Outsource UK have partnered with Exolum on a retained basis to recruit a Operations Supervisor on a permanent basis. Exolum are a global, forward thinking, inclusive employer who are at the forefront of their industry and going through a real period of growth. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision, coaching, development and motivation of operational staff, whilst ensuring the execution of short term operating objectives and assignments.
This is a permanent opportunity that includes a base salary of up to £56,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications, plus bonus and benefits.
Overview of the Operations Supervisor role:
- Organise, optimise and co-ordinate the day-to-day operational activities carried out at the Terminal and to ensure that any risks identified in such activities are adequately controlled so far as is reasonably practicable.
- Liaise with the Maintenance, Stocks, Engineering, Safety and Commercial Departments to ensure the efficient and effective co-ordination of Terminal activities.
- Ensure the effective documentation of all operational activities and the maintenance of appropriate records.
- Liaise with outside agencies, i.e. shipping agents, cargo surveyors, and HMRC officials, on all matters pertaining to product storage and handling.
Key skills required for the Operations Supervisor role:
- Previous experience of managing/supervising teams on an upper-tier COMAH site.
- Possess a NEBOSH qualification or willingness to work towards obtaining this.
- Knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental ‘best practice’ in a high hazard industrial setting.
