We are supporting a major programme via a leading consultancy and are looking for a Senior Storage & Backup Infrastructure Engineer to join a high-performing team delivering critical infrastructure services. This role will suit an experienced engineer with strong NetApp expertise who is comfortable working across design, implementation and support within a secure, enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical design, implementation and support across infrastructure technologies.
- Support pre-sales activity including solution scoping and effort estimation.
- Produce high-quality technical and operational documentation.
- Evaluate and integrate new hardware and software into the infrastructure estate.
- Manage and optimise storage environments including SAN, capacity, access and performance.
- Provide 2nd line support and ensure SLA adherence.
- Support ongoing environment improvements and operational stability.
Essential Experience:
- Strong NetApp experience is essential.
- Proven background in infrastructure engineering within enterprise environments.
- Experience leading small technical teams and delivering project-based work.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure lifecycle, support models and customer impact.
- Excellent documentation skills across both technical and user-facing materials.
- Experience working within structured project and support environments.
Desirable:
- Broad infrastructure knowledge across storage, servers, networks or virtualisation.
- Experience with SAN, file/print clusters or enterprise environments.
- Exposure to messaging or thin client environments.
- Experience working to tight SLAs.
- Relevant certifications such as MCSE or equivalent.
