We have demand for a number of Lead Mechanical Engineer, on a permanent basis, by a global Engineering client, who is at the forefront of their industry and going through a real period of growth. In this role, the successful candidate will ultimately be responsible for driving Mechanical Engineering ‘best practice’ through the project team they lead.

This is a permanent opportunity which comes with a base salary of between £55,000 - £63,000, dependent upon experience and qualifications, plus bonuses and benefits.

Overview of the Lead Mechanical Engineer role:

  • Lead the technical delivery of mechanical engineering solutions across projects, including subsystem and technology development activities.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Mechanical Engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Promote and embed mechanical engineering best practice to improve performance across quality, cost, schedule, safety and reliability targets.
  • Ensure appropriate technical governance, compliance and engineering standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as a key technical authority, supporting innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key skills required for the Lead Mechanical Engineer role:

  • Previous experience of design for manufacture principles with focus on assembly.
  • Experience of leading Mechanical Engineering teams.
  • Possess an associated Mechanical/Engineering biased degree qualification.
