Job Details

Job Title: Mechanical Integrity Engineer

Location: Home-based, with UK-wide travel to terminals (approx. once per month)

Reporting to: Global Assets Management & Integrity Lead

About the Client

Outsource UK\\\’s client is a leading energy logistics and infrastructure company operating across the UK and Europe. They manage a network of storage terminals, pipelines, and related assets, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant handling of essential energy products for industrial and commercial customers.

Role Overview

You will act as the technical authority for storage tank and mechanical equipment integrity, ensuring safe, compliant operations. This includes planning and overseeing inspections, risk assessments, and maintenance activities while providing technical support to projects, operations, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead storage tank inspections, ensuring compliance with API 653 / EEMUA 159 standards.
  • Interpret contractor reports, validate findings on-site, and recommend repairs/inspection intervals.
  • Support asset integrity projects, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance (COMAH, DSEAR, ATEX).
  • Liaise with vendors, manage inspection budgets, and contribute to outage planning.
  • Provide technical guidance for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure documentation and safety compliance across all activities.

Requirements

  • HNC/HND (Level 3-5) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • API 653 / EEMUA 159 qualification (or willingness to train).
  • Experience in storage tank integrity, inspections, and risk-based maintenance in a COMAH-regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
  • Full driving licence and ability to travel monthly across the UK.
