About the Role
As a Project Engineer, you’ll support the Project Manager in delivering commercial growth (new installation) CAPEX projects. You’ll plan and manage inspection and repair programmes for tanks, pipelines, and minor projects, supervising multiple engineering works across various locations. You’ll oversee contract engineers, ensuring all work is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with company standards and UK legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve project management systems, procedures, and workflows.
- Coordinate project proposals with cross-functional teams (Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Integrity, IT & OT, HSSE, Commercial).
- Support Management of Change processes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure projects are executed according to plan, budget, and scope.
- Develop scopes of work, budgets, forecasts, and Gantt charts for assigned projects.
- Manage engineering projects in line with company standards and UK/European legislation (ATEX, PLSG, API, EEMUA, etc.).
- Oversee contract engineers and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and company policies.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree, HND, or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Science is preferred.
- Experience with medium to large CAPEX projects on hazardous/MAH sites.
- Working knowledge of COMAH, MOC, CDM regulations, and relevant legislation (PSSR, LOLER, DSEAR, PUWER).
- Familiarity with codes and standards (BS EN 14015, API 570/650/653, BS EN 60079).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong stakeholder management skills.
- Project management qualification (APM PMQ or equivalent) and/or working towards chartership is desirable.
- Experience in the oil industry or similarly regulated environments is a plus.
