BAE Systems Naval Ships is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer with a strong background in power distribution, lighting, and electrical systems design. You’ll deliver detailed electrical design solutions, ensure technical compliance, and act as a key contributor within the electrical design team.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver and verify high-quality electrical detail design outputs
- Produce and check electrical schematics, cable schedules, and system diagrams
- Conduct design reviews, audits, and quality assurance activities
- Support Team Leads and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering stakeholders
- Provide technical guidance on electrical systems, power distribution, and lighting design
- Ensure designs meet applicable defence, safety, and engineering standards
- Strong background in electrical detail design or electrical engineering
- Experience with electrical design tools (e.g. AutoCAD, FORAN, or similar)
- Knowledge of power distribution systems, lighting, and control systems
- Previous experience working within a Naval Ships or defence environment desirable
- Good understanding of electrical design processes and quality standards
- Confident communicator with ability to support and mentor junior team members
- Apprenticeship, HNC/ONC, or equivalent electrical engineering qualification desirable
