The role of the Quality Engineer is to provide specialist guidance and support to the Quality Function whilst ensuring that the Business Unit remains compliant to the local Quality Business Management System. A competent Quality professional capable of managing own tasks, delivering results, anticipating and escalating problem areas. Conducts specialist Quality activities in accordance with relevant processes and procedures. Subject Matter Expert (SME) in own specialist area, leading improvement initiatives across the Business Unit to drive Quality performance. Domain areas include, but are not limited to: Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality Assurance, Supplier Improvements, Quality Improvements, Quality Engineering, Quality Reporting, Quality Systems, Quality Records, Strategic Manufacturing, Field Engineers, Receipt Inspection, Site Redevelopment Programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as a fully contributory member of the Quality team and support the development of others within specialist area.
- Responsible for demonstrating SHE and responsible business behaviours.
- Undertake specialist non-routine and or complex Quality Assurance activities and tasks in their related area.
- Manage own development.
- Able to access, have a clear understanding of and develop the local Management System documentation e.g. policies, procedures, workmanship standards, risk assessments and processes in their related area.
- Ensure cross functional processes are deployed and adhered to.
- Lead/support internal audits and supplier audits.
- Lead the management of non-conformance resolution and corrective actions with key stakeholders and process owners.
- Lead/support Quality investigations.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Understanding and application of ISO 9001/ EN9100 standards.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in own discipline within Quality and a broad understanding of other Quality related disciplines.
- Understanding of Business Management Systems, Operational Framework and Operational Assurance process.
- Knowledge of and experience of product safety.
- Understanding the importance of cross functional integration across the Business Unit to achieve overall goals of the Function.
- Export requirements knowledge (for example International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)) (where applicable).
