Working Arrangements: 3 – 4 days per week on site, will need to be able to travel to Cowes, some work at Broad Oak may be possible

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Digital Electronics Engineer to take a senior technical lead role in the development of advanced radar systems.
The Role
This is a key technical position responsible for the electronic aspects of digital hardware design across the full engineering lifecycle — from requirements definition through to integration, verification and customer acceptance. You will act as a Design Authority for digital hardware, providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and ensuring a consistent approach across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and design digital sub-systems, including FPGA-based solutions
- Lead VHDL design, simulation, test and integration activities
- Support overall radar system design and produce technical documentation
- Oversee verification and design assurance activities
- Contribute to system timing, BITE strategy and integration
About You
- Degree in Electronic Engineering (or related discipline)
- Strong experience in digital design, including FPGA development and complex PCB design
- Experience across the full design lifecycle and system integration
- Confident providing technical leadership and guidance
