Human Factors Engineer
Client: BAE Systems
Duration: 12 months
Location: Christchurch - BH23 4JE
Hourly Rate: £57 PAYE or £76.98 Umbrella
Working Arrangement: 3 days on site – flexibility required
Role Overview
You will support the Lead Human Factors Specialist in delivering Human Factors Integration and User-Centred Design activities across complex, safety-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Human Factors Integration across system design and development
- Engage with users and stakeholders through workshops and trials
- Assess equipment, prototypes, and mock-ups against user needs
- Conduct Human Factors analyses (e.g. task analysis, usability, workload, human error)
- Support integration testing and verification activities
- Contribute to reports and programme deliverables
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ Human Factors experience in defence or safety-critical industries
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Knowledge of Human Factors Integration principles and Def Stan 00-251
Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, or Engineering
- Professional membership of CIEHF or working towards chartership
