BAE Systems Naval Ships is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer with a strong background in power distribution, lighting, and electrical systems design. You’ll deliver detailed electrical design solutions, ensure technical compliance, and act as a key contributor within the electrical design team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and verify high-quality electrical detail design outputs
  • Produce and check electrical schematics, cable schedules, and system diagrams
  • Conduct design reviews, audits, and quality assurance activities
  • Support Team Leads and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance on electrical systems, power distribution, and lighting design
  • Ensure designs meet applicable defence, safety, and engineering standards
About You:
  • Strong background in electrical detail design or electrical engineering
  • Experience with electrical design tools (e.g. AutoCAD, FORAN, or similar)
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems, lighting, and control systems
  • Previous experience working within a Naval Ships or defence environment desirable
  • Good understanding of electrical design processes and quality standards
  • Confident communicator with ability to support and mentor junior team members
  • Apprenticeship, HNC/ONC, or equivalent electrical engineering qualification desirable
