Overview

Location: Portishead. Salary: £36,262.58 + overtime at time and a half (weekdays and occasional weekends). Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (8am – 4pm).

Outsource UK is seeking a Chemical Operator to join the Operations team at our client’s fuel storage terminal in Portishead. This role supports the efficient and safe movement of fuel products within a high-compliance environment.

Role Purpose

The Operator will support day-to-day terminal operations, ensuring road tankers/shipments are processed safely and efficiently while maintaining full compliance with operational, environmental, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out product storage and handling tasks safely and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate operational records
  • Contribute to the creation and review of standard operating procedures
  • Perform trained roles within the Operations team
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards across the terminal
  • Liaise with contractors and relevant external bodies as required
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to support smooth terminal operations

Requirements

  • Experience working in environments such as Manufacturing/Fuel/Chemical
  • Exposure to COMAH site environments (Upper or Lower Tier) is desirable but not a requirement
  • Safety qualifications (IOSH/NEBOSH) are desirable but not a requirement
