We’re looking for a Monitoring Engineer to take ownership of monitoring and visibility across a Windows-based environment on a high-profile MOD programme. This is more than just responding to alerts - you’ll be improving, designing and driving how monitoring is used across the estate, while also supporting a wider infrastructure team.
The Role:
- Owning and improving monitoring across the estate (SCOM / PRTG)
- Designing and configuring dashboards, alerts and thresholds
- Supporting root cause analysis and driving improvements from incidents
- Acting as an escalation point for monitoring-related issues
- Working with infrastructure and project teams on new implementations
- Contributing to solution design and ensuring monitoring is built in from day one
- Supporting documentation and operational best practice
What we’re looking for:
- Strong experience with SCOM and/or PRTG (or similar monitoring tools)
- Background in Windows infrastructure / enterprise environments
- Experience with network and device monitoring
- Ability to tune alerts, reduce noise and improve visibility
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Comfortable working in SLA-driven, structured environments (ITIL, governance, etc.)
- Experience working alongside infrastructure or project teams
