About the Role
BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Professional to join the team in Barrow-in-Furness on a 12-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement specialist with strong infrastructure experience to support complex procurement activities within a major defence environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage procurement activities across infrastructure projects.
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies.
- Manage supplier relationships and commercial negotiations.
- Support sourcing, tendering and contract award activities.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance, cost, quality and delivery.
- Identify and manage commercial and supply chain risks.
- Ensure procurement activity complies with relevant policies and processes.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong experience within a senior procurement role.
- Essential: Infrastructure procurement experience.
- Experience managing suppliers and commercial relationships.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, contracts and commercial principles.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Experience within a regulated, engineering or defence environment would be advantageous.
