Contract Length: 6 months
Hybrid: onsit up to 3 days per week
37 hours per week
Rate: £40.00 Paye or £53.90 Umbrella inside IR35
Overview: BAE Systems are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to play a key role in delivering high-value construction and infrastructure procurement programmes. This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to make an immediate impact.
Clearance requirement: Eligible for SC clearance and UK eyes only
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of high-value construction and infrastructure tender frameworks.
- Manage day-to-day procurement and ITT activities from development through to contract award.
- Develop and maintain tender documentation aligned with agreed procurement strategies.
- Create tender evaluation and assessment criteria in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Establish KPI-driven incentive mechanisms that deliver successful project outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with procurement governance, tender processes, and commercial protocols.
Key Skills
- Experience delivering high-value procurement or tendering activities.
- Knowledge of UK construction and infrastructure supply chains.
- Experience procuring and managing high-value NEC contracts.
- Understanding of commercial terms within construction and infrastructure projects.
- Experience in Supplier Relationship Management throughout the tender process.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within changing and sometimes ambiguous project environments.
- Collaborative, professional, and proactive approach.
