About the Role
We are seeking 20 experienced Engineers within the Manufacturing space to join BAE Systems Submarines in Barrow-in-Furness. You will play a key role in delivering manufacturing engineering outputs that ensure design intent is met, supporting operational capability across safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
This position is ideal for professionals with strong technical knowledge and leadership experience in manufacturing engineering, looking to contribute to high-impact defence projects in a complex and regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate complex engineering design intent into manufacturing engineering data for operational use.
- Deliver and oversee timely completion of tasks across personal and team outputs.
- Approve work outputs from team members and ensure readiness for release to operations.
- Manage, support, and develop staff using appropriate performance management techniques.
- Identify and pursue personal and team development opportunities.
- Contribute to quality, safety, and environmental (SHE) systems and documentation.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to meet overall project requirements.
- Support business improvement initiatives and capital investment justifications.
- Monitor and manage manpower and resources aligned to programme schedules.
- Lead sub-discipline process improvements by researching and developing new methods and tooling.
- Provide accurate production and resource cost estimates and planning inputs.
- Act as focal point for discipline-specific tasks and promote best practice across projects.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of key performance indicators and root cause analysis.
- Experience in performance management and team leadership.
- Professional knowledge of engineering and SHE standards.
